【Location】
Located just a 2-minute walk from Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station and an 8-minute walk from JR Takatsuki Station, our hospital enjoys an exceptionally convenient location and serves as a key provider of community healthcare in the Hokusetsu region.

【Other Features】
Our hospital is designated by the Japanese government as a Specified Function Hospital, a designation given to hospitals recognized as meeting the requirements for safely providing highly advanced medical care, developing and disseminating new medical technologies, and fulfilling other specialized functions.

The Central Operating Building, located on the west side of the hospital, houses 20 operating rooms that provide 24-hour, 365-day coverage. This is one of the largest facilities of its kind in western Japan, enabling us to respond to emergency surgeries at any time. We also have two hybrid operating rooms equipped to perform major surgeries under general anesthesia while simultaneously conducting advanced diagnostic imaging. Approximately 13,000 surgical procedures are performed safely and consistently each year, including highly urgent surgeries and emergency cesarean sections.

The Main Building A, completed in July 2022, houses an Emergency and Critical Care Center, which accepts approximately 10,000 emergency patients annually and provides emergency medical care for critically ill patients.

The main hospital building serves as a hub for advanced medical care. As a Regional Cancer Care Core Hospital, the hospital has established a Comprehensive Cancer Care Center on the 12th floor, providing comprehensive support for cancer patients throughout the entire process, from hospitalization and treatment through discharge and home care.

The center includes a Cancer Genomic Medicine Management Office, Genetic Counseling Room, and Precision Medicine Center, along with state-of-the-art facilities for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The Department of Cardiology and Department of Neurosurgery wards also provide inpatient rehabilitation, supporting patients in returning to their daily lives and society as early as possible through continuous rehabilitation beginning at an early stage of treatment.

In the outpatient area, newly established organ-specific and disease-specific units aim to provide patients with a “one-stop” medical care service, enabling them to receive comprehensive care in a coordinated setting.

As part of “Takatsuki, an Advanced City for Health and Medical Care,” our hospital plays an important role in providing advanced medical care while supporting the local healthcare system. As a medical care hub serving the entire Hokusetsu region, we will continue our commitment to providing safe, high-quality medical care.

Available Programs

  • Early Detection of Pancreatic Cancer [Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital]

We provide diagnosis and treatment for pancreatic and biliary diseases using state-of-the-art advanced medical technologies.

Equipped with the latest ERCP and EUS-dedicated endoscopes. We perform one of the highest numbers of pancreaticobiliary endoscopic examinations and treatments in Japan. Our expertise in histological diagnosis and drainage procedures for pancreatic and biliary cancers is internationally recognized, and our specialists are frequently invited to conduct live endoscopic demonstrations worldwide. We also have extensive experience in endoscopic tumor ablation and cholangioscopy-guided lithotripsy. English-language support is available. When a mass lesion is identified, histological diagnosis is performed using endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA). In cases where no mass is detected on endoscopic ultrasound but pancreatic cancer is still suspected, diagnostic evaluation using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is performed to differentiate carcinoma in situ.

  • Treatment of Bile Duct and Pancreatic Duct Stones [Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital]

We provide diagnosis and treatment for pancreaticobiliary diseases using state-of-the-art advanced medical technologies.

Equipped with the latest ERCP- and EUS-dedicated endoscopic systems. We perform one of the highest volumes of pancreaticobiliary endoscopic examinations and treatments in Japan. Our histological diagnosis and drainage procedures for pancreaticobiliary cancers are internationally recognized, and our specialists are frequently invited to participate in live endoscopic demonstrations worldwide. We also have extensive experience in endoscopic tumor ablation and cholangioscopy-guided lithotripsy. English-language support is available. Removal of bile duct stones and pancreatic stones is performed under ERCP guidance. For cases in which conventional stone extraction is difficult, electrohydraulic lithotripsy is performed. In patients with surgically reconstructed gastrointestinal anatomy, stone treatment is carried out after endoscopic ultrasound-guided drainage.

We also have extensive experience in endoscopic tumor ablation and cholangioscopy-guided lithotripsy. English-language support is available. Under endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) guidance, bile duct tumors are identified and treated with radiofrequency ablation. To enhance therapeutic efficacy, this procedure is combined with chemotherapy, including immune checkpoint inhibitors. Repeated treatment at intervals of several months is considered to provide greater clinical benefit.

  • Biliary Drainage Procedures [Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital]

Treatment is performed by placing biliary stents under endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) guidance. In patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma, multiple stents are placed to improve obstructive jaundice. For patients in whom ERCP is technically difficult, endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage is performed, in which a stent is placed into the bile duct from the stomach or duodenum under EUS guidance. The number of cases for this procedure is the highest in Japan.
