genre
  • medical treatment:radiation、cancer、prostate cancer
program details
By utilizing the advanced technology of Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), we deliver highly precise radiation treatment. This approach minimizes radiation exposure to surrounding healthy organs while administering a high dose to the prostate, achieving treatment outcomes comparable to, or even surpassing, those of surgery.
requirement, condition for apply
- No contraindications to radiation therapy, such as complications from collagen diseases (e.g., scleroderma) or hereditary disorders (e.g., xeroderma pigmentosum).
- Must have a trusted urologist in the patient’s home country to ensure follow-up care, including treatment efficacy evaluation and management of side effects after radiation.
- Must be able to stay in Japan for approximately 8 weeks, covering both the preparation and radiation periods, and be available for consultations during that time.
- Outpatient treatment must be feasible (hospitalization is not permitted).
- The patient must personally sign the consent forms for examinations and treatments issued by our clinic, and it is preferable to have an additional family member’s signature.
- No prior history of radiation therapy to the prostate or nearby areas.
- No pacemakers or internal metal implants, allowing for MRI examinations at our clinic.
- Must be able to maintain a supine position without movement for approximately 30 minutes.
- Diagnosed with prostate cancer through pathological examination based on more than 10 prostate biopsies, with a confirmed Gleason's score. The diagnostic report must be provided.
- Prostate imaging diagnosis performed with an MRI of 1.5 Tesla or higher, confirming localized prostate cancer (T-factor of T1-3 in the TNM classification). The imaging data and diagnostic report must be submitted.
- Imaging studies (CT, MRI, bone scintigraphy, FDG-PET/CT) must confirm no lymph node or distant metastasis (N0M0 in the TNM classification). The imaging data and diagnostic report must be submitted.
- Baseline PSA (iPSA) must have been measured, and the test report must be provided.
- It is preferable if hormone therapy (CAB therapy) has been administered for 6 to 12 months before the start of radiation therapy.
- Treatment may be declined if deemed inappropriate for our clinic.
precaution, contraindication
Radiation therapy cannot be provided if there is a history of prior radiation treatment to the prostate. Hospitalization for treatment is not permitted. Hormone therapy cannot be continued at our clinic during the radiation therapy period.
