Precision Medicine
Precision medicine is also described as “personalized medicine.” Based on genetic information obtained from the patient's cancer tissue and blood, drugs that are thought to be effective for each individual patient are selected and treated.
Precision medicine identifies a patient's genetic mutation that causes cancer, so that the patient can be treated with a drug that is considered highly useful for that genetic mutation.

The patient is confirmed to have a condition for which standard treatment is unavailable or inaccessible, and then a decision is made as to whether or not the patient is eligible for Precision Medicine.
