APS Therapy (Regenerative Medicine for Osteoarthritis) "Mitsuwa Orthopedic Clinic

APS (Autologous Protein Solution) therapy is a treatment in which APS extracted from one's own blood (a protein that suppresses inflammation) and (a growth factor that protects cartilage) are injected into the joints. This treatment slows the progression of osteoarthritis, reduces pain, and suppresses inflammation.

Characteristics: Surgery is not required, so the treatment can be performed on a day trip with little burden on the patient's body.
Effects: Reduction of pain and swelling in the affected area. It is also effective for chronic joint pain.
Duration: It is reported that the effect lasts for about one year after a single injection of APS.
Time required: about 1 hour Treatment results: Started in 2018, more than 350 cases have been treated.
※APS treatment is particularly effective for patients with strong inflammatory symptoms or those who have difficulty controlling pain with hyaluronic acid injections and is intended for patients with symptoms such as severe pain and swelling or difficulty walking due to knee pain. The treatment process begins by drawing blood from the patient, extracting the APS using a centrifuge, and then injecting the extracted APS into the patient's knee joint. After the treatment, aftercare such as rest and icing for a certain period of time is required.
