• Lung Examination Program for non-Japanese clients (Haibara General Hospital)

  We recommend lung CT scan providing multi-slice image of the lung. The low-dose radiation 320-column CT scan we use for lung examination is safe with less than 10 % of radiation dose compared with conventional CT scans, yet it offers high-resolution. In addition to the examination for lung cancer, examination for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the 4th major cause of death in the world, as well as lung tumor marker test (blood test) are performed.

  Lung cancer developed at hidden zone behind the heart, liver, or large blood vessels is very difficult to detect by chest X-ray scan. The zone is the site of predilection for dangerous lung cancer. For this reason, we recommend lung CT scan providing multi-slice image of the lung.   Pancreatic cancer used to be feared because it was difficult to detect in early stage and was life-threatening. The cancer still may not be cured if it is not detected in the stage without symptoms. Pancreatic cancer is difficult to be detected by regular check-ups, or even by our Standard Complete Physical Examination Program. Pancreas examination is highly effective in detecting early pancreatic cancer, but there are only few medical institutions offering the examination even in Japan. We have just released Pancreas Examination Program, a package of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP), abdominal MRI scan, abdominal ultrasonography, and pancreas tumor marker test (blood test).

MRA scan can detect cerebral aneurysm which may cause subarachnoid hemorrhage, or a site of the narrowing or clogging artery in the brain. Carotid ultrasonography checks for the risk of clogging carotid which sends blood to the brain in the near future, or of developing cerebral embolism. All examinations are simple procedure without any pain.
