Lens Reconstruction Surgery 【Kanazawa Medical University Hospital】

In 2019, a dedicated operating room (Eye Center) adjacent to the ophthalmology ward was opened, where more than 1,200 cataract surgeries annually are performed, including complex, pediatric, and complicated cataract cases.

For cataract diagnosis, we use advanced diagnostic equipment to objectively assess not only visual acuity but also the quality of vision, allowing us to select the most suitable intraocular lens for each patient.

We offer a range of intraocular lenses, including spherical and aspherical monofocal lenses, toric lenses, and multifocal lenses. Experienced orthoptists support patients in selecting the best option—considering their lifestyle—including approaches such as monovision.

We place particular emphasis on multifocal intraocular lens surgery and have one of the highest case volumes among university hospitals in Japan, achieving excellent clinical outcomes.
