Surgical treatment is performed for herniated lumbar disc, which causes lower limb numbness, pain, back pain, and sensory disturbance in the lower limbs. The primary surgeon is Dr. Kota Watanabe, Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Keio University School of Medicine, and Dr. Kazuki Takeda, Assistant Professor. The surgery usually takes about one and a half hours, but it can be completed in about 30 minutes. Hospitalization is about 5 days. Immediately after the surgery, you will notice a reduction and disappearance of numbness and pain.
