Adipose tissue-derived cell therapy (ASC therapy) is a treatment in which adipose stem cells from the patient's own body are extracted, cultured, and administered intravenously.
Stem cells have the ability to differentiate into cartilage and bone, and to repair tissues with growth factors and anti-inflammatory cytokines produced by the cells. Local anesthesia is used and the fat cells are collected from the area below the navel. The wounds are very small and painless. (The actual time required for fat collection is about 10 minutes, but it takes about one hour including preparation and resting time after the procedure). After 4 to 8 weeks of culture, the cells will be slowly administered by intravenous infusion into a vein over a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour.
The treatment uses platelet-rich plasma extracted from your own blood, which can be purified by blood sampling. (This treatment can be completed on the same day of your visit, from collection to administration.) It also has the advantage of less swelling and pain after administration.
