- Precautions / Contraindications
- ■ Meals
On the day before the examination, please eat easily digestible foods such as white bread, rice porridge, or plain udon noodles (without toppings or ingredients). Finish your dinner by 9:00 PM. After 9:00 PM until the end of the examination, no food is allowed.
You may drink up to 100 ml of water up to one hour before your visit.
■ Medications
If you are taking medications, please consult your primary care physician about how to take them on the day before and the day of the examination.
As a general rule, medications for high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, or tranquilizers should be taken upon waking to maintain stable conditions. If you skip these and your blood pressure rises, you may not be allowed to undergo endoscopic examinations.
Do not take any diabetes medications, including insulin injections, on the morning of the exam.
■ Smoking
Please refrain from smoking starting from the morning of the examination, as it may affect the test results.
**** Upper GI Endoscopy ****
At our facility, the use of sedatives is optional. If you choose to use sedation, you must refrain from driving, making important decisions, or engaging in hazardous tasks until the next day.
If you do not wish to use sedation, transnasal endoscopy is also available.
