Precautions / Contraindications
■ Precautions for the Day Before and the Day of the Exam
Please refrain from consuming alcohol or engaging in strenuous exercise the day before your exam.
On the day of the exam, please wear no makeup or only light makeup.
Contact lenses must be removed during the exam, so please bring your glasses.

■ Regarding Meals
Please finish your dinner by 9:00 p.m. the day before your exam.
On the morning of the exam, you may drink up to about 100 ml of water before coming to the clinic.

■ Regarding Medications
If you are taking any medication, please consult your primary care doctor regarding how to take them before and on the day of the exam.
As a general rule, medications for high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, and tranquilizers should be taken upon waking to maintain stable conditions.
If you do not take them and your blood pressure is high, you may not be allowed to undergo certain procedures such as endoscopy.
Do not take diabetes medications (including insulin injections) on the morning of the exam.

■ Regarding Smoking
Smoking may affect your test results. Please refrain from smoking from the morning of the exam.
Smoking is not permitted on the examination floor. Thank you for your cooperation.
