Nakanoshima Eye Center Clinic

Nakanoshima Eye Center Clinic specializes exclusively in ophthalmology. By integrating consultations, diagnostic examinations, and surgical procedures within a single facility, the clinic provides efficient and streamlined patient care.

In collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, the clinic is staffed with highly trained medical professionals and equipped with advanced medical technology, enabling patients to receive a standard of care comparable to that of a university hospital.

Comprehensive Ophthalmic Care – From Advanced Regenerative Medicine to the Treatment of Common Eye Diseases

Our clinic specializes exclusively in ophthalmology and opened in May 2024.

An Eye Center is a specialized ophthalmic facility where consultation rooms, diagnostic examination rooms, and operating theaters are integrated on a single floor, allowing patients to receive one-stop ophthalmic care from diagnosis through treatment.

This streamlined system enables efficient examinations and treatment while providing a comprehensive range of ophthalmic services—from advanced regenerative medicine and other cutting-edge therapies to the treatment of common eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.

In addition to offering the latest treatment options, we provide an Eye Dock (Comprehensive Eye Health Screening), an advanced eye screening program designed to detect eye diseases before symptoms appear and to identify conditions with a high risk of vision loss, enabling early diagnosis and timely treatment.

In collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, our clinic is staffed by experienced specialists and equipped with the latest medical technology. Patients can receive university hospital–level ophthalmic care without requiring a referral letter.

Lens replacement surgery for cataracts, including implantation of multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs)
Vitrectomy for retinal and vitreoretinal diseases
    Glaucoma surgery
Ptosis (drooping eyelid) surgery and lacrimal duct surgery
    Pterygium surgery

We offer surgical treatment for a broad spectrum of eye diseases, utilizing advanced surgical techniques and state-of-the-art equipment.

For cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, we carefully assess each patient's visual needs and lifestyle to recommend the most appropriate intraocular lens for optimal visual outcomes. We perform a large number of procedures using multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) and also offer simultaneous bilateral cataract surgery for eligible patients. These procedures are performed by Dr. Noriyasu Hashida, Clinic Director. For retinal and vitreoretinal diseases, we provide comprehensive surgical treatment for conditions including retinal detachment, epiretinal membrane, and macular hole. Emergency surgery can be performed on the same day when clinically indicated. Inpatient surgery is also available. These procedures are performed by Dr. Daiki Shiozaki. For glaucoma, we offer minimally invasive surgical procedures tailored to each patient's condition. Emergency glaucoma surgery is available when required. Treatment is provided by Dr. Shinichi Usui and Dr. Takanori Matsuoka. We also perform outpatient (same-day) surgery for ptosis (drooping eyelid) and lacrimal duct disorders causing excessive tearing. These procedures are performed by Dr. Yoshiyuki Kitaguchi. In addition, we provide surgical treatment for pterygium and conjunctival tumors, as well as a wide range of other ophthalmic conditions.

  • Eye Doc【Nakanoshima Eye Center Clinic】

Our Eye Dock program includes 20 comprehensive ophthalmic examinations designed to evaluate a wide range of eye conditions.

Using advanced diagnostic imaging and state-of-the-art examination equipment, we can detect even subtle abnormalities at an early stage, enabling the early diagnosis of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and other eye diseases.

By identifying potential risks before symptoms develop, we can provide timely medical intervention and appropriate treatment to help preserve your vision.

A standard comprehensive health checkup typically includes only three eye examinations: visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and fundus photography. In contrast, our Eye Dock program consists of 20 comprehensive ophthalmic examinations, including: Objective refraction Best-corrected distance visual acuity Best-corrected near visual acuity Vision with current eyeglasses Eyeglass prescription measurement Intraocular pressure Axial length measurement Ocular alignment Ocular motility Convergence test Binocular vision assessment Accommodation function Wavefront aberration analysis Corneal endothelial cell examination Three-dimensional anterior segment imaging Three-dimensional posterior segment imaging Ultra-widefield fundus photography Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) Slit-lamp biomicroscopy Tear Break-Up Time (TBUT) These comprehensive examinations allow us to assess eye health across all age groups, enabling the early detection of asymptomatic eye diseases and vision-threatening conditions, including glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. Using the latest diagnostic equipment, we provide one of the most comprehensive ophthalmic screening programs available. If an eye disease is detected, treatment can be provided at our clinic. We also maintain a close collaboration with Osaka University Hospital, ensuring seamless referral and follow-up care when specialized treatment is required.
