Available Programs

  • Radiation Therapy (Nanbu Tokushukai Hospital)

Our hospital is equipped with advanced radiation therapy systems, Tomotherapy (Radixact) and CyberKnife M6.
These systems enable treatment ranging from highly targeted pinpoint irradiation to wide-area radiation therapy, allowing for shorter treatment periods.
We perform more than 750 radiation therapy cases annually.

Radiation therapy is a non-invasive treatment that does not require surgery. It involves minimal pain and allows patients to continue their daily activities with little disruption. With advances in precision and safety, it has become a cancer treatment option that patients can choose with greater confidence. ■ Introduction of the latest Tomotherapy (Radixact) This advanced system enables faster and more precise treatment. Radiation is delivered precisely according to the shape of the tumor, minimizing the impact on surrounding healthy tissues. ■ First installation in Okinawa Prefecture – CyberKnife Known as a “non-invasive surgical knife,” CyberKnife delivers pinpoint radiation therapy for tumors. With a robotic arm and real-time tracking system, it automatically adjusts for slight body movements and breathing during treatment. This advanced therapy is designed to minimize side effects and provide a patient-friendly treatment option.

  • TaTME (Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision) – Endoscopic Transanal Rectal Mesorectal Resection (Nanbu Tokushukai Hospital)

We have introduced the advanced endoscopic procedure TaTME (Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision) for the treatment of rectal cancer.
By approaching the tumor from both the abdomen and the anus, this technique aims to achieve highly precise cancer removal while reducing the burden on the patient.

We have introduced the advanced endoscopic surgical technique TaTME (Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision) for the treatment of rectal cancer. TaTME is a surgical method that approaches the rectum simultaneously from both the abdomen and the anus, allowing surgeons to remove cancer while visualizing the rectum with greater precision. This technique is expected to improve safety and surgical accuracy, particularly in cases of lower rectal cancer, which are considered technically challenging with conventional laparoscopic surgery. ■ TaTME (Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision) This procedure involves inserting an endoscopic camera and surgical instruments from both the abdominal and transanal sides, enabling surgery to be performed simultaneously from two directions. By approaching from both sides, surgeons can carefully visualize the tissues surrounding the rectum during the operation. ■ Reduced operation time and lower physical burden Performing surgery from two directions simultaneously improves surgical efficiency, which may reduce the operation time and lessen the physical burden on patients. ■ Applicable to technically challenging cases TaTME is particularly useful for difficult cases, such as cancers located close to the anus, patients with a narrow pelvis, or patients with obesity, where conventional surgery can be technically demanding.

  • Robot-Assisted Surgery (Nanbu Tokushukai Hospital)

With the introduction of the hinotori surgical robot, robot-assisted surgery for prostate cancer can now be performed at our hospital.
In addition, the Mako robotic system has been introduced, enabling safer and more precise joint replacement surgery.

With the introduction of the hinotori surgical robot, robot-assisted surgery for malignant tumors can now be performed at our hospital. The robotic arm “Mako” is a robotic surgical assistance system specialized for joint replacement. It enables robotic surgery for procedures such as total knee replacement and total hip replacement.

  • Intra-arterial Chemotherapy (Nanbu Tokushukai Hospital)

Intra-arterial chemotherapy is a treatment aimed at relieving symptoms caused by cancer.

This treatment uses a catheter to inject embolic materials into the arteries that supply blood to the tumor. Intra-arterial chemotherapy is a treatment primarily aimed at relieving symptoms caused by cancer. It is mainly intended for patients whose cancer has recurred after standard treatment and for whom no further effective salvage treatment options are available.

  • Extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy (ESWL) for renal and ureteral stones(Nanbu Tokushukai Hospital)

ESWL does not cause damage to the body as it does not involve opening of the
    abdomen.
Patients can receive treatment on an outpatient basis because anesthesia is not
    necessary.
The use of newly developed electrodes enables more effective lithotripsy and shortens duration of treatment (about 30 min per treatment).
The new shock generator reduces pain during treatment.
In the case of small kidney or ureteral stones, outpatient treatment is selectable.
You can just lie on a bed during treatment.
