We have introduced the advanced endoscopic surgical technique TaTME (Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision) for the treatment of rectal cancer.
TaTME is a surgical method that approaches the rectum simultaneously from both the abdomen and the anus, allowing surgeons to remove cancer while visualizing the rectum with greater precision.

This technique is expected to improve safety and surgical accuracy, particularly in cases of lower rectal cancer, which are considered technically challenging with conventional laparoscopic surgery.

■ TaTME (Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision)
This procedure involves inserting an endoscopic camera and surgical instruments from both the abdominal and transanal sides, enabling surgery to be performed simultaneously from two directions.
By approaching from both sides, surgeons can carefully visualize the tissues surrounding the rectum during the operation.

Performing surgery from two directions simultaneously improves surgical efficiency, which may reduce the operation time and lessen the physical burden on patients.

■ Applicable to technically challenging cases
