Program Summary: Treatment is performed by placing biliary stents under endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) guidance.
In patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma, multiple stents are placed to improve obstructive jaundice.
For patients in whom ERCP is technically difficult, endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage is performed, in which a stent is placed into the bile duct from the stomach or duodenum under EUS guidance.
The number of cases for this procedure is the highest in Japan.
